PEROGON CYBERSECURITY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018

The 2018 Cybersecurity World Championships (Perogon™) are an educational and challenging competition for Cybersecurity professionals and university students. Participants are passionate about cybersecurity across all areas of expertise including computer security, security analysis, privacy, security engineering, security intelligence, mobile and cloud security. The championship involves two Online Qualification Rounds, with a Live Top 24 World Finals Event in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2018. Participants compete as individuals.

Cybersecurity educational awareness and skills are critical to project governments, agencies and companies worldwide. The World Economic Forum (WEF) suggests that “90 percent of companies worldwide recognize they are insufficiently prepared to protect themselves against cyber attacks” The Perogon competition seeks to build awareness and educational skills in detecting and resolving computer security incidents, as well as taking steps to prevent future incidents and vulnerabilities management. A wide-range of verticals will be explored – including governmental bodies, telecoms companies, energy suppliers, financial institutions and Internet service providers.

The tests and challenges will involve real-world simulations and incidents, including denial of service attacks, website defacements, access to sensitive information and attacks on critical infrastructure, big data security and cyberterrorism defence strategies.
